Broward Design Collaborative

The Broward Design Collaborative is a response to inquiries and requests for assistance from various private and non-profit organizations in Broward County (for example Broward Workshop, Broward Alliance Neighborhood Development and Builders Association of South Florida ). The Design Collaborative is intended to provide a forum for researchers and experts, as well as, the general public to think about and discuss urban form in Broward County . An important component of the BDC will be the dissemination and translation of ideas about urban form to the public.

Mission
Statement
The mission of the Design Collaborative is to advance knowledge on issues related to urban form in South Florida by creating a forum for urban design oriented solutions at multiple scales, with the objective to help build healthy communities in Broward County that are walkable, livable and equitable. While the Collaborative will focus it efforts on the local context, its “academic” mission is to look at sustainable design solutions within an urban and suburban subtropical setting. The Collaborative wants to be a place for the exchange of information and the development of ideas between different stakeholders and the general public and specifically wants to link FAU resources and expertise to needs in Broward County .
